Where is my generation?
Where have they disappeared to?
Our minds, our hearts
are lost at war, in debt
on frivolous things that don't matter
Take heart young soldier
Be bold in your plight
The season is changing
Time to show your might
Speak up young lady
Don't keep mum
in the dark night
Your day in the light
is not far I say
Your time for reckoning
Is soon at bay
A shift in sight
is shortly due
Not much longer
can we take this
Not much longer
Shall we sit
With crossed arms
Blameless and ignorant
Cold-hearted with no alarm
Hot-headed and complacent
As if it caused no harm
What will we stand for?
What will they remember?
Who will call us out
on what should be called murder?
Red hands that wave
violently to the distance
a final attempt to save
our sanity with resistance
They told us what to say
What to think, how to behave
But a crack in the surface
Is growing more each day
A generation lost
A generation unfazed
Not knowing where to turn
Not knowing who to blame
Tell me now, tell me how
You can live in a society
Where people disappear
Into thin air in mind and body
Soul and humanity
What have we done?
Where is my generation?
