Barefoot in Paradise

Crimson-hued sea as the sun sets
Seeing NYC for the first time
Through the eyes of a mother
of three from Seattle
Her red hair and blue eyes
Seem brighter the closer we get
It's been eleven years
Since she flies alone

NYC so serene at dusk
Calm as we land
As am I
At the moment

She asks who will pick me up
My sister I say
That's nice she answers
I realize all of a sudden
It really is nice
To have someone waiting
For you to arrive
Someone you recognize
Someone you love
And who loves you

We land at 8pm.
